Ski resorts in the Sierra Nevada are reporting some of the biggest November snowfall totals in years, including Alpine Meadows which got nearly 9 feet over five days. It was the single biggest storm to be recorded there in the month of November since officials started keeping records in 1970.
Boreal and Sierra-at-Tahoe, both near the summit of the Sierra south of U.S. Interstate 80 reported about 7 feet of snow from the storm. Kirkwood Mountain Resort reported more than 6 feet of snow at the upper elevations, with Heavenly and other mountain resorts reporting upwards of 5 feet of fresh snow.
